Chai Cardamom Snickerdoodles


1/2 cupchai butter
1/2 cupshortening
1 1/3 cupsugar
2 teaspoonsvanilla extract
2 3/4 cupsall-purpose flour
2 teaspoonscream of tartar
1 teaspoonbaking soda
1/4 teaspoonsalt
2 tablespoonscardamom
2 tablespoonssugar


  • 1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  • 2. Cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/3 cups sugar, eggs, vanilla. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda, salt. Shape dough with spoonfulls into rounded balls.
  • 3. Mix cardamom and sugar into something you can roll the dough balls into mixture.
  • 4. Place balls 2 inches apart
  • 5. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set but not to hard.
  • 6. (Optional) Drizzel Black Scottie Chai concentrate lightly over cookies let set a few minutes and enjoy.

  1. Absolutely worth making the chai butter! Our family doesn’t like snickerdoodles but enjoyed this chai spice version and it baked into a lovely cookie. Popular and a definite re-bake!
