I had a dirty chai at Crater Lake Spirits in Bend, OR, and I told the bartender it was THE BEST chai I have ever tasted! He then handed me a bottle of Black Scottie Chai Concentrate and I about lost my mind! I can make this at home?! So obviously, I bought a bottle. And since my sister is equally as obsessed with chai tea, I bought her a bottle as well. This chai will FOREVER have a place in my home.
I recently tried this Chai Concentrate (the 8oz Personal Size) and was pleasantly surprised by the rich, bold flavor. The small size is perfect for on-the-go, and the concentrate makes it easy to customize the strength to my liking. I appreciate that it is made with high-quality ingredients, including black tea and a blend of warming spices. Overall, I highly recommend giving this concentrate a try!
I’ve been everywhere man, and I’ve tried a lot of chai but there’s nothing better than Black Scottie! I first found it on a sweet little shelf at 5 Stones Coffee in Redmond, Washington. I purchased a bottle for my daughter and after coming back home to Maryland I realized I needed my own stash! I’ve spent the summer sipping iced chai’s with milk and a dash of creamer… Just purchased my second bottle to get me through the winter. Looking forward to steamed Black Scottie Chai next to the fire. YUM!
A long time ago, I drank Black Scottie Chai regularly, but then I switched to a different brand that was more spicy and less sweet. I recently started drinking “dirty” chai, with a shot of espresso in it. I found that the espresso did not at all go well with the spicier/drier chai, so with my distant memory of the taste of Black Scottie, I ordered a bottle for the first time in several years. It makes an absolutely perfect blend for a dirty chai! The sweetness offsetting the bitterness of the espresso, and the spices complementing the coffee flavors.
I first tried Black Scottie chai syrup at The Coffee Cottage in Woodland Park, CO in an oat milk chai latte. I was immediately obsessed and asked the barista what had been used to make the chai latte because I had to recreate it at home. I promptly bought 2 personal size bottles, and frankly, considered buying the king size one! I’m a forever fan of Black Scottie!
I used to make my own Chai blend because I couldn’t find anything with the right balance of spicy, sweet, and delicious. While traveling nearly 10 years ago, I ordered a “dirty hippie” from a coffee shop in Bend, OR and my mind was blown! Was so excited to learn that it was a concentrate I could just easily add to my drink. Honestly the most perfect balance – you can dial up or down the intensity and it is just perfection. I still haven’t found anything as dependable, delicious, and delectable as Black Scottie!
Who needs Starbucks when you can make this delicious chai at home! Today I made a chai latte using this chai concentrate and it was amazing!! At first I was a little skeptical about how you could get a strong tea taste from a syrup-like texture, but black scottie chai did an amazing job with the flavor. Upon opening the bottle, you can smell the strong chai aroma of cardamom and cinnamon just wafting out of the bottle. On top of that, you don't need a whole lot of concentrate to get a strong, sweet flavor. Honestly, this might just become a staple in my pantry from now on! This is definitely one thing that was an unexpected, yet a necessary buy!
